our mission

Bridging the gap between AI hype and real-world adoption

AI is transforming how organizations operate, but too many adoption efforts fail because they focus on the technology instead of the people using it. AdoptionLab.AI is an AI leadership development program grounded in change management methodology. Our progressive belt system — White through Black — takes learners from foundational AI confidence to running governed pilots and leading organizational strategy. Every belt has participants applying AI to real problems from day one, using the PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) cycle trusted by quality leaders for decades.

Matt Humer

Founder & AI Change Management Consultant

Matt is an AI Optimist who built AdoptionLab.AI to bridge the gap between AI hype and real-world adoption. With an MBA, GenAI Green Belt, PMP, and LSSBB, he brings a decade of experience facilitating IT projects and helping organizations change their ways of working. Using this skill set, he's working to help mission-driven organizations meet the increasing demands they face through hands-on AI upskilling.

Background

Change Management & Training

Before AdoptionLab.AI, Matt spent a decade designing and implementing change management strategies, coaching Lean quality improvement, and serving federal clients as management consultant. In these roles he built extensive training content, facilitated teams through difficult changes, and coached leadership teams to help them support their organizations through the messy middle of transformation - first at Accenture Federal Services, and then the University of New Hampshire, and Fortune 150 utility Duke Energy.

Philosophy

People first, augmented by technology

"AI adoption fails when you put the technology before of the people expected to use it." -Matt Humer

Matt brings a human-centered lens to every engagement, treating AI adoption as a change management challenge and not a technology problem. His approach puts people at the heart of the work, not the tools.
